My opinion
I was investigating this community including builders and went the circle at least five times over two months. And at some point, I was holding a lot which faces 700k to million dollar houses.
The reason I gave up is not because of the quality. Actually, Based on feedbacks from Mortgage specialist, the quality of Ashcraft home was significantly improved because they switched contractors a few years ago.
The reason for giving up is:
- I don't like the follow models I intended to buy:
fifth avenue: second floor layout is not what I like,
Klein: the stair directly faces entrance
Almany: the front and back entrance directly face each other.
From Fengshui point view, those layout is not good.
- The community is a little slow to complete. Unlike minto, ashcraft does not have inventory homes. This attributes to the slow also.
- a little over price. It was over 100k cheaper in Barrhaven for similar homes
- uncertainty about the mixed use development close to greenwich.
Now the good part
- convenience
- close to experience farm. a plus also.
- middle to high school are very good: can go broadview, nepean and glebe for next year. but my kids is too young for that.
By the way, most of fifth avenue homes are sold to Chinese people. I spoke one family from Southeast Asia, they are very friendly and has their own business.
Hopefully, the above helps.
