你进Settings->Control Panel->Regional and Language Options
应该有3个Label吧

Regional Options
里面的Select an item to match its preferences.选择为Chinese(PRC)
底下的Location无所谓,写China,Canada都ok

如果没有Chinese(PRC)的话
先到Languages
里面把Install files for East Asian languages这项选上,先Apply再说
然后回去时候就有那个了Chinese(PRC)了

他应该会要求使用Xp安装盘,请准备好

设置中文输入
点Languages里面的那个detail
把中文输入设置为default,就是在那个
Select on of the installed input languages to use when you start your computer
下面的选择下拉菜单
找个Chinese(PRC)开头的就可以了
默认状态下应该是Chinese(PRC)-Chinese(Simplified) - Microsoft Pinyin IME 3.0
如果没有的话点那个Add
Input Language里面选择Chiense(PRC),
Keyboard layout/IME:选你自己喜欢的输入法
几次ok应该就可以了

找个Chinese(PRC)开头的就可以了
默认状态下应该是Chinese(PRC)-Chinese(Simplified) - Microsoft Pinyin IME 3.0

我不太喜欢微软拼音,所以搞了个QuanPin(全拼)
ADD完以后点ok返回
然后Default input language选
Chinese(PRC) - Chinese(Simplified) - QuanPin

点Advanced,添加一个高级功能,具体看他的自身介绍就OK了

刚才设置完成以后点Apply返回原来的Regional and Language Options
最后一个设置
点Advanced
打开Language for non-Unicode programs的中文支持
在Language for non-Unicode programs的下拉菜单中找到Chinese(PRC),然后Apply,接着,最好restart一下机子

Office XP Tool: Global IME (Simplified Chinese)
If you used a Global IME (Input Method Editor) 5.02 with a previous version of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Internet Explorer, or Microsoft Outlook® Express, it will not work after you have installed Office XP. You will need to download this updated version.

Use the Microsoft Global IME for Office XP (Simplified Chinese) to input Simplified Chinese text into your documents, worksheets, presentations, mail messages, publications, and Web pages. After you have installed the Global IME, you just start your Office XP program, select Simplified Chinese from the Language bar, and you can type Simplified Chinese, regardless of the language version of Office XP or the operating system you are using.

Note This download also works with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or later and Outlook Express 5.0 or later. However, if you are using Microsoft Windows® 2000 and Internet Explorer 5.5, you must install Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 1 and Internet Tools.

You can also use the Office XP Tool: Global IME (Korean), the Office XP Tool: Global IME (Traditional Chinese), and the Office XP Tool: Global IME (Japanese).

Before you install
Before you install the Global IME for Office XP, do the following:

Install Office XP (any language version).
If you have not installed a Global IME before, install the Speech or the Handwriting feature in the Office XP installation (Office Shared Features, Alternate User Input).
If you are not running Windows 2000 AND you are not running a Simplified Chinese language version of the operating system, install the Office XP Tool: Simplified Chinese Language Pack.
Note You must be logged on to your computer as a member of the Administrators group to install the Global IME.

Office XP Tool: Simplified Chinese Language Pack
The Simplified Chinese Language Pack is designed to work with the Office XP Tool: Global IME (Simplified Chinese) download and is only required if you are not running Microsoft Windows® 2000 AND you are not running a Simplified Chinese language version of the operating system. You do not need to download the Simplified Chinese Language Pack if any of the following are true:
you are running Windows 2000
you are running a Simplified Chinese language version of the operating system
you are not installing the Global IME (Simplified Chinese) tool
The Simplified Chinese Language Pack installs Simplified Chinese language support files for the operating system.
