Neighbors from hell...literally
HI there
Well we have been in our new house for 1 month in a half now and it’s been hell with our new neighbor... just one side thank god!
It all started when we got the keys the first day.. the lady next door came and complained because the air conditioning unit as being installed on her side of our house versus our other side. She screamed at us and we had to go back in the house because trying to be nice and explain the reason why we had to put it on this side was getting nowhere.
A couple of weeks later my husband had a chat with her husband which seem to be a lot more reasonable than is wife and my husband asked if they were going to take down the dead sunflowers from last year since they are on the property line and if you look closely some are even on our side. These were planted when our lot was vacant. He said that he would take them down sometime. My husband was cutting the grass one day and decided to cut them down and put them in his yard bag as a favor and also because they are in the way of him cutting the grass straight. Her parents came out of the house screaming in Chinese and making gestures, my husband tried to explain with signs because they do not speak English that they are dead and rotting and on our side of the line. They would not stop screaming and were scaring the kids that were playing outside. My husband left everything and came inside the house.
1 week ago my husband was cutting the grass again and must have ran over what he taught were weeds but they must have been some kind of new plant they planted one the property line. As my husband was cutting the grass the older man rushed over and started screaming and pulling my husband from his lawnmower. I saw this from the kitchen and ran outside with the phone and was telling the old man that I was going to call the police. The old man would not let go of my husband and was yelling at him 2 inches from his faces. then the old lady rushed outside and started attacking me and screamed at me in Chinese, pulling my arm and my shirt. I kept telling her not to touch me but she did not understand. When I almost fell, my husband told me to run in the house and call the police. I am 3 months pregnant and don't need this stress. Our neighbors on the other side are very nice and saw this happening as nobody is fenced yet and they rushed over to help us calm down while the police were on their way. The police waited for the daughter of the older Chinese couple to arrive home and her husband to explain to them that next time her parents cr4oss to our side they will be arrested and that today it came close to having them charge with assault.
So we got the 1 year fence agreement waived for that one side with our builder. We now have to get our lot re-surveyed and a fence put in.
The survey guy that did the job initially said that he remembers those neighbors because when his guys were trying to survey our lot last fall the people next door were throwing mud and earth at them saying they were stealing part of their land.
We measured the line in the back and we are short to our supposed 51 feet wide lot as per our survey, went we located the marking pin in the ground we found that there is a hole next to it that would indicate where it initially was and our measurement would be bang on if it was there.
When the survey guy comes again, we know that the neighbors will get upset as they will move back the property pin as were it should be and they will freak out.
I just wanted to share this experience with you and hope that you enjoy your good neighbors
At this point I would be ready to move, I do not handle confrontation well
I hope the fence will fix part of the problem but then again who knows.
