Hello everyone,

Could someone please tell me what emergency packing is? I will go for G2 test next week, checked lots of posts here which are very helpful, but I just don't know what emergency packing is:confused: I guess it is not just pushing the triangular sign button on the car panel:blowzy:

Any response will be appreciated.

Thinks it is Emergency parking not Emergency Packing.

For Emergency parking:

Check your mirrors, put your four-way emergency flashers on, slow down, and pull over to the nearest shoulder as quickly as possible ( 拉手刹).

If downhill parking, turn your front wheels towards the curb or right shoulder;

If on hill parking, turn your steering wheels towards the left so the wheels are turned towards the road if you are facing uphill with a curb;without curb, turn your front wheels towards to the right.

Parking on a hill, always set the parking brake and put gear at "P" ; turn off the engine and remove the key.

NOT the following?

Parking

Roadside stop

When you need to stop by the side of the road for a short time - to check something outside your vehicle or to look for directions on a map, for example - follow these directions:
  1. Before slowing down, check your mirrors and blind spot to see when the way is clear.
  2. Turn on your signal before slowing down unless there are vehicles waiting to enter the road from sideroads or driveways between you and the point where you intend to stop. Wait until you have passed these entrances so that drivers will not think you are turning before the stopping point.
  3. Steer to the side of the road, steadily reducing speed, and stop parallel to the curb or edge of the road. You should not be more than about 30 centimetres away from it. Do not stop where you will block an entrance or other traffic.
  4. Turn off your signal and turn on your hazard lights.
If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, put the gear selector in park and set the parking brake. If your vehicle has a manual transmission, set the parking brake and shift into neutral if not turning off the engine, or shift into low or reverse if turning off the engine. When parking on a hill, turn your wheels in the appropriate direction to keep your vehicle from rolling.

Thank you for all the replies.
I am sure that I meant PARKING not PACKING, sorry for the typo.

Thanks again.

For LZ's question of 'Emergency parking', there has some difference from above. If only do above steps may fail to pass the test for an Emergency parking.

A few complement:

The sentences I typed at l#3 from Driver's handbook. The most important is that, emergency parking need 'put your four-way emergency flashers on'. When do this emergency parking is during a G2 test. For G2test the tester will ask you do an emergency parking on any road but suppose if on a freeway.

So, for emergency parking at all road conditions including hill and normal road, I think ours (ccc & me) adding together is much better!

See the all words from the handbook as ccc gave out at another post (thanks for give this link, otherwise I have to word by word type again!)

Some words are used diffirent because I typed from an old book. Such as "Check your mirrors, put your four-way emergency flashers on, slow down, and pull over to the nearest shoulder as quickly as possible" and now are "put on your hazard lights, take your foot off the gas pedal and pull over to the nearest shoulder as quickly as possible. Never stop in the driving lanes". The most meaning is same.

Driver's Handbook

Dealing with emergencies

If you have trouble on a freeway

At the first sign of trouble, begin to pull over. Do not wait for your vehicle to stall on the freeway. Check your mirrors, put on your hazard lights, take your foot off the gas pedal and pull over to the nearest shoulder as quickly as possible. Never stop in the driving lanes.

Thank you for everyone who reply my post. Also I would like to thank you some people who posted his/her testing experience here to share with everyone. I passed the test, and whole process was just the same as posted. Only difference will be which intersection to turn right from Hunt Club. Mine was the third one.

Thanks again, I hope everyone who will have driving test should check this forum first.

A highly recommendation for this forum.
