也许连菜鸟都算不上。。。我不会开汽车。。。可是今天早上因为骑单车在sidewalk（人行道？）上被开了一张罚单。 ...！ 也没有戴头盔。今天警察没有说要罚，他飞快地离开了。但是，不戴头盔是不是也要罚款？

是的，在人行道骑自行车或者骑自行车不戴头盔帽，都有被罚款的可能。

Here's a thought irrelevant with the ticket.
Some cyclist like bicycling in a busy street (not a bike path), that really dangerous and bothering other people driving. I can see drivers try to avoid to drive on the lane that having cyclist, then cause a traffic jam on the other lane. I wish there would be a road regulation for that. Probably those cyclists think they have the priorities to use the road so they can be in the street without caring about cars, but have these people ever thought about those drivers also in a hurry?

Personally, I am annoyed by slow-moving car drivers on express lane, but not slow-moving bike riders... I just treat bikes on road as "low-speeded cars" more than simply bikes... So, slow down if you see bikes in the front, and don't try to squeeze them they have nowhere to go other than roads...

I agree with you for certain lanes the biker has no way to go. But I couldn't understand some bikers using car lane eventhough there is a bike/trail lane beside that, for example, in Elizabeth Queen's Parkway.

The basic rule is "share the road", no matter if there is a bike path or not.
