Good News! City of Ottawa is opening AfterSchool Program in Morgan's Grant. The cost is about $8/day. School bus provided.
Hurry, they need enough enrollment before Fri. Aug.21 to get it going.

Can we ask city to open an public afterschool program in Barrhaven too? I know many public programs are much cheaper. Barrhaven private/home based afterschool care is way too expensive, and space is limited. there are more and more young kids in Barrhaven. in many other areas they have YMCA programs, or other non-profit programs only $120-150/month. does anybody has idea how to get this going? maybe parents can apply together?

City of Ottawa runs a few after school care programs in the older Barrhaven area, mainly in Walter Baker Centre. there are supervisors to collects kids from nearby schools, like Barrhaven PS, Jockvale, and a couple Catholic schools and walk them to the WB centre. However no school bus servicing these programs, therefore kids from other schools will rely on other means of transportation.......

Thanks BobtheBuilder for your information. is that posible to bus kids in new Barrhaven to Water Baker Center ? including kids in New Berrigan, Farley Mowat, Andrew Clardson.

Now there are 2 choices:

1. If there's no facilities available in new Barrhaven area, we can only use the exisiting programs. ie: see if pissible to bus kids to Water Baker.

2. seeking opportunies for vity to open extra programs in new area.
