Tips of CAA emergency service

Hi, Guys

Here is my experience sharing with you. Yesterday, Sunday, was very cold with ice rain. , My car can't be started when I forgot to turn off the light. I am CAA member. I can CAA help line. I was told the CAA truck will be with me within 1 hour and ask me to wait at the Department Store nearby. I left my cell phone to operator.

I am surprised that CAA truck came only in 10 minutes. I was called by operator that CAA truck is just outside of the entrance of the department store. After pallallel strating, my is started. I was also told to leave the engine running for at least 30 minutes. I checked my gas. It was 25% full. After 30 minutes wait, and I drove to gas station. My gas was almost depleted. I am lucky.

Here are the tips for those new drivers.
(1) If your car is at least 5 years old (out of warranty). It is worth registering as CAA member. Its service is what they promised.
(2) Don't leave your light on when I left the car!!!
(3) Alway keep at least 25% full gas.

I means waiting time and running time totaling 30 minutes.

There do have a little confusion for this sentense.
"After 30 minutes wait, and I drove to gas station. "

I waited around 15 minutes,and drove about 15 minutes. I think my understanding is correct. One can either keep car running or stayingin this case, only if the engine is turned on.

The reason I stay for 15 minutes is that running may consume more gas than staying.

I will be happy if there is something shared with others. I appreciate if more people could share their car related experiences, even though there maybe something which is not perfect.
