Here is my experience sharing with you. Yesterday, Sunday, was very cold with ice rain. , My car can't be started when I forgot to turn off the light. I am CAA member. I call CAA help line. I was told the CAA truck will be with me within 1 hour and ask me to wait at the Department Store nearby. I left my cell phone to operator.

I am surprised that CAA truck came only in 10 minutes. I was called by operator that CAA truck is just outside of the entrance of the department store. After pallallel starting, my is started. I was also told to leave the engine running for at least 30 minutes. I checked my gas. It was 25% full. After 30 minutes wait, and I drove to gas station. My gas was almost depleted. I am lucky.

Here are the tips for those new drivers.
(1) If your car is at least 5 years old (out of warranty). It is worth registering as CAA member. Its service is what they promised.
(2) Don't leave your light on when you left the car!!!
(3) Alway keep at least 25% full gas.

Actually, keep a car start-up cable would be much easier. You can ask anyone to give your car a boost, most people would love to help. The cable costs about $10. Also you don't have to stay idle for 30 minutes, just keep the car running, the generator will automatically charge the car battery.

Actually, CAA can refill the gas on the road as well.
