The new dare to discipline
I've read the first few chapters of this book and was appalled by Dr. Dobson's suggestion of using spanking to discipline young children. I looked through the Amazon reviews of this book. More people rated it one star (or zero if there's one) than people who recommend this book. Some reviews are written by those who were raised by parents who believe in the "Dare to discipline" book published some twenty years ago.

It's easy to take control of a young child by physical punishment. But, our ultimate goal of parenting is to raise responsible, respectful, and resilient adult, not apparently obedient children.
