3 ton or 4 ton furnace for 1900 square ft house?

How to determine the tonnage of the heating furnace you need? 3 ton or 4 ton furnace for 1900 square ft house? The bigger, the better? Thanks.

One company said 3 ton, the other said 4 ton.

furnace has one stage, two stage.. basically some furnace could adjust the fire, some furnace does not. For two stage furnace you could go higher because it would adjust if there is too much heat. For one stage furnace go lower. Because you want furnace to be run longer and smoother. You house temperature wouldn't change too much between fire up.

frnace is totaly different from air conditioner,you can't count that under tonnage but how many BTU,and you have 1900 sq of the area,
that is the total area of house which means the basement included or not, is your house a town house or semi or single house? those are all very important factors to judge how many BTU you need.
