一般房子装的警报器，都是烟雾报警器（用交流电电源）。

因为现在都用煤气锅炉和热水器，有的家庭还用煤气炉具和壁炉，所以应该另外加装一氧化碳报警器(Carbon Monoxide Alarm)。

商店有买烟雾和一氧化碳一体的报警器(Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Alarm)，也有单独的一氧化碳报警器。用的是干电池，很容易安装，用两个灰墙膨胀螺丝固定就可以了。

装在有气源的房间就可以了。

最近今天，消防队的人走门串户，派送宣传品，要求安装这两种警报器。

是的，燃烧不充分就产生ＣＯ。无论是否法定必须安装Carbon Monoxide Alarms，装上两个以防不测。The Home Depot, Rona, Canadian Tire, ...　都有卖的。

CO Alarm 吗？

家里天然气供暖、一个天然气壁炉，还有一个烧柴禾壁炉。。。
是应该装在这三个炉子附近？还是应该安在卧室，防煤气中毒？

should be at bedroom. mine is in second floor hallway. CO is lighter than air , it moves up. There could be some CO near furnace from time to time when it is just lighted up. If you put alarm there. It would give false alarm.

前天direct energy的人来检查时，我问了安装CO警报的安装位置。 他们推荐装在sleeping area 的hall way， 有些人更小心的，可以在装有hot water tank and furnace之处加装一个警报器。两道保险嘛。

The door to the utility room is usually closed. So, it should be Okay to put a CO alarm there. Mine has not given any false alarm so far.

If gas is also used in the kitchen, it would be a good idea to put one on the ceiling above the stair well to the 2nd floor.

顺便说一句，检修师说，警报器最好2，3年便换一个，因为主配件不坏，内置的感应器却很有可能长时间工作而坏掉。 他好心的在我家的那个上按test 键，结果完全不work, 郁闷了一把。
