Honestly, I felt really really upset at Ottawa Police.
In the later released police report regarding that accident, the police wrote she charged me because I admit to her that I changed 2 lanes at the one time. While this is lying in front of me, in written. Of course I never admit that in any form or why I need to go to court with them.
Then the police side did something even worse. There must some officer who reviewed the whole case file, and found out it's impossible for them to win at the court, then they set a court date in Jan without letting me know! They convicted me in Jan without my appearance. Then, when the fine letter came to me, I went to them, and ask why they convicted me without even let me know the date, they said blablabla and will mail me another date....
Then, again, I never receive the court date letter until I became so worry about this and kept calling them, and they give me the date over the phone ( still, never get the notice of court date in written).
So, I did show up in the courtroom and I won in a few minutes. But the experience of dealing with them so painful.
The conclusion is: be very very careful when dealing with police. Don't consider them as a judge or something representing fairness. Not at all. Must always try to protect oneself from them.
恭喜恭喜!
Would you mind sharing your arguments at the court, from which, I bet, others could learn something?
