[/FONT][FONT=Helvetica, Arial]NR: Options for Pregnant women who want the H1N1 vaccine announced [/FONT][FONT=Helvetica, Arial]Ottawa - The Ottawa Hospital has joined with Ottawa Public Heath to provide a special one-day clinic for pregnant women only.
The Ottawa Hospital will be operating this clinic on Saturday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its Riverside Campus site at 1967 Riverside Drive. The clinic is for pregnant women only and will not be open to the general public.
Pregnant women who want the non-adjuvanted vaccine have additional options. Ottawa Public Health will continue to offer both the non-adjuvanted and adjuvanted vaccine to pregnant women at all of its fixed sites and roving clinics.
Pregnant women who want to get their H1N1 vaccination can do so at one of the following fixed site clinics:
Kanata Recreation Complex

100 Walter Baker, Kanata

Richelieu Vanier Recreation Centre
300 Des Pères Blancs
Orléans Client Service Centre
255 Centrum
Tom Brown Arena

141 Bayview, Ottawa
Walter Baker Sport Centre

100 Malvern, Barrhaven

Constellation

100 Constellation Crescent, Nepean

Additional roving clinics will also provide the H1N1 non-adjuvanted and adjuvanted vaccine throughout the vaccination period at multiple locations throughout the city. This will include Ottawa’s rural areas.
"It is strongly recommended that pregnant women get vaccinated against the pandemic H1N1 influenza virus,” says Dr. Nadine Sicard, Associate Medical Officer of Health.

Both the non-adjuvanted and adjuvanted vaccine will be available at the Riverside Campus on Saturday.
Ottawa chief medical officer said: if a pregnant woman shows up with her child/children belongling to the priority groups, they will not be turned away.
