You may go to the website www.pcworld.com to see the top 10 cdburners. But many of them you can't find in Ottawa. So I recommend LG 16*10*40 and Sony. Very good.
BTW, if you want to buy it in a retail store, they often sell it in OEM packge that only contains the burner ,software cd and manual. If you buy in Futureshop or Staples it's in a retail box. So you can get a blank cd-rw for free. I prefer the retail box.
