I got introduced to MBNA MC about 3 months ago. Initially I was not sure if there's any "catch" underneath the nice-looking surface, as this card/deal appeared to be significantly better than any existing CC that I already had.
Upon reading the so-called "fine-print" Terms-and-Agreements, I could not find any out-of-ordinary "catch". The only thing that's different from other cards seems to be the $50 threshold of mailing out reward cheques, which I can accept.
This is a mastercard with NO annual fee (hope it stays like this), cash-back rate at minumum 1% (any balance, any purchase, with gas & grocery purchase cash-back rate at minimum 3%), and all platinum card benefits (like car-rental-coverage, extended-warranty, etc).
In my opinion, the online account access is easy to setup and provides detailed transaction data and reward cash information. The customer service people, based on my one-time service call experience, seemed to be friendly, competent, and capable of resolving an issue quickly.
After about 2 months of usage, I like this card so far. Online payment from my bank account is also easy (same as any other bill).
