申请daycare

我家宝宝1个多月了。生宝宝之前就申请了waiting list (children care services). 最近看了几位妈妈的帖子，好像应该申请好几个list。所以想问问除了我已申请的这个list，还要申请那些呢？

另外，我希望宝宝能上6个月大的daycare，妈妈们觉得孩子是不是太小了？我一点经验也没有。

Personally I do think the baby is too young to separate from you and stay in the daycare. This is the time that he/she needs you the most, the love, cuddles, everything. And also for safty, I'm not sure.

不是的，waiting list只有一个，就是哪个centralized waiting list。需要等的就是center based daycare，home daycare不需要排队。一般在孩子准备上daycare前两个月开始找home daycare就足够了。提前太多人家开home daycare的也不知道到时候会不会有空位。

You can put your baby on the centralized waiting list the same time look for a home daycare. Even you find home daycare, you still can keep your child's file on the waiting list. Sometime the centered daycare let you know there is a spot available, but you don't want it, your child can still on the list for the next suitable spot. Normally there is no wait time for a spot in home daycare. But there are cases if the care giver is very popular, she might have a waiting list. my friend runs a daycare, and she already has waiting list for next year. If centered daycare is your ultimate option, you can have home daycare as a backup during the mean time.

不是 JK 和 SK。 是你孩子上 JK，SK 和小学时，放学后参加的 program (或者叫 after school care). 不然，你得自己安排接孩子回家，特别是现在 JK， SK 只有 2.5 小时间。

我现在就遇到这样的麻烦：孩子九月要上 JK 了，但学校里的 after school care 进不去，申请晚了！ 要是当初在申请 day care 时，一快申请了这个 school age program, 现在就没有问题了 。 现在只有等有人 cancel。

现在就得申请，排队。 在一张 centralized waiting List 表上， 可以填九个！ 见图：

这个表最好现在就填齐了，不然后来 update 这个表的话，排队时间按 update 的时间算。

我的问题在於孩子刚出生的时候，就填了 toddler 和 preschool 的几个 centers，两年后才补了上 JK 时的 school age program. 现在孩子九月份要上 JK 了，但排队等其 school age program 的时间才2年不到。 据负责的 director 讲要是等了三年的话，就没问题。 而我现在就是有问题了。 因为， director 在安排人数时， 有孩子在这个centre 上的，其 sibling 优先，剩下的位置按排队的先后次序来

thanks for the reply! My baby is three and a half month old. So for that centralized waiting list I mostly applied for day cares , along with one or two JK (nine, in total). Once she gets into a day care, then I will apply for JK and SK, along with the after school program. Does this sound right? Do I miss anything? Thanks again!

as far as i know, that waiting list is not for any JK, SK, but for daycares, preschools, and school age programs (may also called afterschool cares).

you may phone centralized waiting list to verify this.
