Does anyone know about this company of national canada?

Yesterday, they came to my house said my water tank over 10 years (about 11 years). They can change new water tank for us for free. The rent fee will be $24/mon (my current is $20/mon), but energy (gas) will save 30%, overall will save about $7/mon.

These guys to my house too a while ago, telling me the same story (plus some lies, for example, "We work for the government."). I didn't give them a chance.

Do a caculation: Even what they say is true, you would pay about $5 more and possibly save about $7 per month. So, the potencial saving would be only $2 a month roughly.

I don't say it is a bad thing to do, but it would not be worthy of doing. They just want to steal the business from other companies.

1) you alwasy get a new water tank for free, since you rent it.
2)The energy saving may not be true since they don't even look at what you have now. Many 10 year old tank already high efficent.

Check the exhaust pipe of the tank, if it is plastic then it is high efficent tank.

I did call them to cancel the installation. I will keep what I have.

Quick question, is the old tank (after 5 years) will be very dirty inside of water tank?

tank is too old,it need to be changed,also old tank's venting pipe is abs,this kind material is not allowed to use now by new gas code,if you want to replace a new water tank,they will change all your venting by new pvc or cpvc material,and it is for free,more over you can save some gas and enjoy best water quality.

for better water quality and save gas bill,you should replace your old water tank.I install over 2000 water tank,if over 15years,the water will be very dirty .some cx replace a new water tank every 7 year,not for other resean,just for better water quality

You may need to discharge water from water tank to check the water is dirty or not. You can turn on the value at the bottom of the tank. I do it every year, let water flow for two minutes, then close it.
