[问题] 关于在ottawa 上网

我想从国内带一台笔记本电脑去。那里上网方式有几种？是否只要一根电话线就能上网。那里上网是否要另外收费？房东是否能同意用他的电话线上网？

Dial up
Netzero is free for 10 hours/month
you also can get some free months from AOL

Broadband
Cable: CDN19.95/month for 1st 5 months, later is 39.95/month(you must be a USER of cable TV, means you have to pay another 16.86 for cable TV)
ADSL:24.95/months for 1st 5 months, sixth month is free. later is 39.95/month. you must have a phone line in your house/apartment which is 22.xx/month

Dial-up is much slower and the phoneline is occupied when you are connecting to internet,so normally dial-up from a shared phoneline is not encouraged
ADSL will not affect normal phoneline when you are connecting to internet.

CABLE和ADSL应该是一样价钱吧? CABLE还不免installation fee.
