Market Growth GICs

Unlike regular GICs, our Market Growth GIC returns are linked to the performance of one or more stock market indices, so you have the potential for higher returns. But unlike stocks, your principal is guaranteed no matter which way the markets move. And your investment has no foreign currency risk.
Choose from a selection of different Market Growth GICs

  • GIC PLUS
Return linked to the performance of the S&P/TSX 60.
  • U.S. GIC PLUS
Return linked to the performance of the S&P 500 Index.
  • GLOBAL GIC PLUS
Return linked to the combined performance of the S&P/TSX 60 (Toronto), S&P 500 (New York), FTSE 100 (London), Nikkei 225 (Tokyo) and DJ EUROSTOXX 50 (Frankfurt) indices. Weighting of each index determined by TD Canada Trust.
  • FINANCIALS GIC PLUS
Return linked to the performance of the S&P/TSX Banks Index.
  • UTILITIES GIC PLUS
Return linked to the performance of the S&P/TSX Capped Utilities Index.
Return Potential

For all Market Growth GICs, the return is calculated based on the percentage increase, if any, in the underlying index or indices over the term of the investment, subject to the Maximum Return. The Maximum Return is set on the date of purchase, and represents the highest return your investment can earn. Please refer to the Rate Information for current Maximum Returns.
Principal Protected

Your original principal is protected no matter which way the applicable stock market index goes!
If the market index increases over the term of your investment, you benefit from the increase up to the Maximum Return.

first, make sure you have >15000 annual retirement income. if you think that will from RRSP, then do your RRSP contribution first.

For low income family, TFSA is better than RRSP contribution. But you have to be sure that you will not face a situation of OAS claw back.

By the way, do you think you will be always in the low income class in all your life....I do not know. It could be hard.
