Problem reading Chinese in Word 8.0

I have created 14 MB(more than 280 files) Chinese
documents with my old computer which has the following
set up and applications:

Chinese Star 2.97
Word 7.0
Window 95

Now I can't read any of my 14 MB documents with my two
new conmputers which have the following set up and
applications (I can read Enlsih, Not Chinese):

Chinese Star 2.97
Office 97(Word 8.0)/Office 2000 (one for each
computer)
Window 98

I have been asking friends for help, but nobody has
the answer, I hope somebody on the net could help me.

You can try Richwin Professional version coz it also supports Chinese Star.

But mind you, I personally think Chinese Star sucks and dumped it 7 years ago.

你说得太笼统了。什么叫can't read？是文件读不了，还是出来是乱码？

Thanks a lot for all your help. When I say I can't read the Chinese, I mean strange
codes like partial Chinese,and partial Japanese.

I also use English Windows 98, but have no problem to read Chinese Word files (MS Word 97).
I don't need any special Chinese software, but just have downloaded the Chinese reading and input software
from Microsoft site through the Windows Update. I can input Chinese on IE browser and Outlook Express directly, but cannot do it on MS Word without NJStar Communicator. Can you read Chinese on IE browser of your new machine without Chinese Star 2.97? When you open your Chinese Word files, have you changed the font into Chinese font?

找台用win2000的机器试试，win2000不用中文平台就可以看，但要改一下设置。要不然直接找个中文wndows来看。
