这几天水表经常显示太热, 都到了红线, 不知是怎么事!

It is Overheating. How long to get the red mark when you drive? 10 mins or 1 hour? Does your coolant boiled? what kind of air you get from your heater? hot or cold? Was the radiator fan on when the temp goes to red area?
First of all, Stop driving you car immediately. Otherwise, The big trobles with huge costs will be following. Keep in mind, lots of engine are damaged by overheating. If overheating and drive, the head gasket will be leak. It is 12 hrs labor for replacement: $70/hr for most garage. Also it will make the engine's header deformed and the polish will be needed, it is more cost there...
1. Check your coolant level, if it is below the Min or empty. top up and watch it. Get your owner's manual, find out where is your coolant Reservoir? The coolant is green/blue or most older cars, and red for most newer cars.
2. Check if the air pocket in your cooling system. Start you car for mins, and loose the bleeder screw(valve) around 2 turns to see the coolant level goes down or not. If get down, it means air pocket in cooling, just top up coolant and the problem will gone. If no bleeder screw on your car, use screw driver to pull off a little bit the hose with through the firwall.
3. If overheating happens when you drive for a long time, It is your radiator fan or switch was gone. check and replace it.
4. If your cooling system leaks, For very little leaks, you can try some "leak stop" for ridator from any store, just 4 or 5 bulks. For big leakage, you have to check all the cooling system, all the hoses, reservior, reservior cap, water pump, heater, bleeder valve, thermostat, radiator. Find the source first and change it.
5. If no leakage at all, touch and feel the upper hose and bottom hose which connect to your radiator, compare both temperature. If one is Hot and one is Cold, It will be the thermostat stuck, or water pump seized, or radiated cluged. Change the thermostat and water pump to try. Normally thermostat should be changed every 65K and water pump 75K, timing belt 100K. so most people change all of those together plus tensioner and idle pully.
Don't beleive too much what the garage says - head gasket gone. coz it is most hrs for labor they wanna charge you. If you didn't drive too much with overheating, head gasket is not easy gone.
