Do anyone know how the builder measures the basement height? Since it is not clearly defined in the builder spefication sheet, our agent sugguested to add the following in our sale contract for the new house:
"The basement height should be no less than XX'-00'' (for example, 8' -00'') from the basement floor to the basement celling joint."
The sale person had agreed to add it. However, after submitting the contract to the head office, his supervisor refused to sign off the page due to this one.
Does anyone know why the builder does not want to have this one written in the contract? If we don't write it down, could the builder make the basement height is less than 8'? Did anyone have this kind of problems before?
Many Thanks!
