Windows 7 vs XP

1) Which one is better for normal users and mid grade computer hardwre?
2) Can I still buy a new Notebook but specify XP os?

Vista was bad, but it wasn't so bad that it's unusable.

All of these OS's are still functional and will do what you have to do correctly, it's only the icing on the cake that we're picking on.

Windows 7 is relatively better. However, it will require faster hardware, such as dual or quad core, 6 GB RAM, 500 GB hard disk, faster VGA cards.

Don't aim for entry level hardware spec, as the average speed will cause you lots of waiting time, and decrease productivity
