魁北克森林火灾 逾千名居民撤离，渥太华被烟雾笼罩

　　新华社今晨电加拿大消防人员28日继续努力扑灭魁北克省森林大火，已有超过1000名当地居民撤离家园。

　　大火过去几天横扫魁北克省上莫里西等地，超过3.8万公顷森林遭大火吞噬，迫使1300多人撤离家园。

　　魁北克省森林防火部门发言人勒梅说，包括来自美国和加拿大的940名消防队员已扑灭59处火点中的大多数，正设法扑灭另外13处火点。不过加拿大广播公司说，62处火点仍未扑灭，其中14处火势已失去控制。

　　勒梅说，火灾由干燥所致，大多数火点因闪电引燃。天气预报说，受灾地区未来几天没有降雨。

A strong smell of smoke and haze this morning across Ottawa is drifting in from forest fires burning well outside our region.
Ottawa fire crews and other rescue services across Eastern Ontario have been inundated with calls from anxious home and business owners, but do not report any major fire in the city. Officials have been trying to determine the source of the smoke, which is suspected to be from forest or brush fires burning well outside the region, but carried into the area by prevailing winds.
Ottawa fire department spokesman Marc Messier said the smoke is almost certainly from fires burning in Quebec or the northeastern U.S. There is a major fire in the Trois Rivieres region. Other fires are burning in the U.S. state of Maine and through New Hampshire.
He said fire crews have been racing from call to call as people report smoke smells and, sometimes, a smoky haze visible in and around their residences and businesses.
A hot, dry spring following a winter with much less snow than usual has left forest and brush areas tinder dry in many areas. That has contributed to a larger number of forest and brush fires. The Ottawa area forecast does call for showers on Tuesday, following by a mix of sun and showers for the next several days.
Fire department vehicles have been travelling through neighbourhoods most affected to ensure there is no fire burning in the city.
