Computer Engineering Faculty Position in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan invites applications for one full-time, tenure track faculty position. Excellent candidates in all areas of computer engineering are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to the areas of design, verification and testing of digital systems. The position is offered at the Assistant Professor level, but exceptional candidates will be considered at a higher rank. The applicant must demonstrate both excellent research potential and teaching ability. Relevant industrial experience will be considered an asset. A Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering, or in a related field is required; and eligibility for PEng is expected.
The successful candidate is expected to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise graduate students and establish a research program in computer engineering. The successful candidate is also expected to supervise senior undergraduate projects. Research start-up funding as well as partial graduate student support would be available.
The Department offers B.Sc., M.Eng., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. The Department has strong foundations and research in the area of analog and digital electronics, devices, digital communications, biomedical engineering, and power systems and machines. There are about 230 undergraduate and 100 graduate students currently enrolled. An open and collegial environment exists amongst the students and faculty.
The Department has close ties with local industry and is affiliated with Telecommunication Research Laboratories (http://www.trlabs.ca/) and CMC Microsystems (http://www.cmc.ca/). Research opportunities exist at Canada's national synchrotron radiation facility, the Canadian Light Source Inc. (http://www.lightsource.ca/). Through these affiliations, exciting opportunities exist for collaborative work and graduate students have access to state-of-the-art research facilities.
