September 8 Update: The $1000 off offer from Costco is back! If you're a Costco member and you're shopping for a car, this is a great bonus that's really worth checking out!

First up, Ford has a Recycle Your Ride program. Ford is working with the Clean Air Foundation and the government run Retire Your Ride program. If you turn in a working 1995 model year or older vehicle to the government Retire Your Ride Program and provide proof to a Ford dealer, you can be eligible for a credit of up to $3000 (you also qualify if you've already made use of the Retire your ride program). You can choose to take a cheque directly, or have the credit applied toward a new purchase of lease. Full details and instructions can be found here.
Second, Ford is offering people with a valid Costco membership a $1000 discount on select models -- the Fusion, Flex, Escape, and Edge (the Escape Hybrid and Fusion Hybrid also qualify). You'll need to bring the printable coupon (linked on the page), and your Costco membership card with you to a dealer. The fine print on the coupon also states that the offer is transferable to immediate family members living within the same household as the eligible Costco member.
We don't see anything in the literature that makes these offers mutually exclusive, so you're looking at the prospect of some significant savings if you can combine the two. In fact, the Costco coupon specifically states that it's "Available in addition to other offers."If you're fast, you could also make it in time for the end of the Ford Employee Pricing promotion which was supposed to end on August 31st but has been held over to September 8th.
