Final Reminder – 2010 Annual Breastfeeding Challenge
On
Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 11 a.m., in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week, Ottawa Public Health (OPH) and its partners will host the 2010 Annual Breastfeeding Challenge at Billings Bridge Shopping Centre 2277 (Riverside Drive East #208).
The Annual Breastfeeding Challenge hosts mothers and babies (at many sites around the world) who compete to set the record for the most babies breastfed at one time, in one location.
Last year’s challenge was an enormous success with 4,766 babies participating in 21 countries around the world. Ottawa placed third with 125 babies breastfeeding.
If you are a nursing mother, you are invited to be part of this year’s challenge. Help us promote the importance of breastfeeding and hopefully set the world record for the most mothers breastfeeding in one location at the same time. All participating mothers will receive a gift bag and an opportunity to win a door prize.
The day will highlight the health benefits of breastfeeding for mothers and babies, as well as provide more information on this year’s theme Breastfeeding, just 10 steps.
