加拿大-中国40周年电影节将在整个十月开展,以庆祝加拿大与中国外交关系的建立。开幕式将在10月6日下午7时于文明博物馆举行,播放加拿大短片《一瞥》,并由获奖导演让•弗朗索瓦•包利华(Jean-François Pouliot)亲自介绍;以及中国电影《风雪狼道》,由中国电影局高级代表作介绍。
所有电影免费入场。领取文明博物馆开幕式活动的门票,请访问文明博物馆售票处。加拿大国家图书档案馆无需入场券。座位先到先得,额满即止。

Canada-China Film Festival:
Celebrating 40 years of Diplomatic Relations
The Canada-China 40th Anniversary Film Festival will celebrate Canada’s establishment of diplomatic relations with China throughout the month of October. The opening night of the festival will be held at the Museum of Civilization at 19:00 on October 6, 2010. Featured will be the Canadian short film Glimpses, with an introduction from the award-winning director Jean-François Pouliot, and the Chinese film The Way of the Snowstorm, introduced by a senior representative from the China Film Bureau.
Free admission to all films. For tickets to the Museum of Civilization opening event, please visit the Museum of Civilization Box Office. No tickets required for events at Library and Archives Canada. Seats will be available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Synopsis: This film depicts 24 hours in the life of an imagined city – a composite that draws on all Canadian cities. This imaginary day unfolds through the course of four seasons and reveals the nature of places and the people that make them so vibrant. The images in the film slowly come together with deft, impressionistic touches. Adopting the rhythm of someone strolling through the city, they intermingle and reply to each other – evoking a different story for each viewer. Glimpses was produced for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo by the National Film Board of Canada
2nd Film: Way of the Snowstorm

Synopsis: During a severe storm in Xinjiang, a group of fortune-seekers go searching for the mythical “golden baby”. Under the severest conditions, the extremes of human nature are tested in this thriller of magnificent scope. Synopsis: In this short film from Oscar-winning filmmaker Beverly Shaffer, 9-year-old prodigy Xin Ben takes lessons from Mr. Daniel Mergler, a piano teacher at the end of his career. It is a remarkable story about a student and her mentor who meet for less than a year, 26 lessons that change her life and his. Xin Ben illuminates Mergler's final months as an instructor with her youthful talent, and he, in return, lovingly guides her towards a life in music.
2nd Film: Thunderbirds in China

Synopsis: In this documentary, the members of the University of British Columbia's Thunderbirds hockey team travel to China to demonstrate their skills to the new teams in the East. While hockey there still has a long way to go, this film leaves no doubt that the Chinese players are up to the challenge. A film propelled by discoveries, it goes a long way to providing insight into the differences between East and West.

Synopsis: Kekexili is a film inspired by a people’s remarkable mission surrounding the illegal Tibetan antelope poaching in the region of Kekexili, the largest animal reserve in China. The story is brought to the screen with great detail by director Lu Chuan and National Geographic World Films. Set against the exquisite backdrop of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, Chuan tells the tale of brave local Tibetans who face death and starvation to save the endangered antelope herds from a band of ruthless hunters.
