Local school 都怎样？生源好吗？

Robert Hopkins Elementary Schools, Henry Munro Middle School and Colonel By Secondary School

Ottawa 几个好高中，似乎就这区房子还便宜点。但不知老房是否总要修？

挺喜欢那老区人行道的，孩子走路上学也放心。

Welcome to BHN. I've lived there for more than 30 years. My kids all graduated from Henry Munro and Colonel By. Both Gloucester High and Colonel By are good high schools.

Good area with the right mix of people, in terms of social class and affluence. Crime rate is very low.
As far as older house is concerned, watch out for the big expense items: windows, roof, furnace. The rest is just regular maintenance.

老房子肯定是总要修的。大院子肯定是新区里花更大价钱才可能买到的。
这个区的中小学都不错，最让人吃惊的是french catholic教育局在这个区的小学学校也很好。邻居的孩子是走路上那个gloucester high 隔壁的英语教会中学的。据说很好

The English Catholic high school is Lester B. Pearson which I forgot to mention earlier.
In any case BHN is my stomping ground. It will be hard for me to move anywhere else.

I lived at beacon hill north already twenty years, it is good no matter the society and the people, my girls also studied here, but the single house is experience , so I lived at the condo, but I pay a condo fee ,I have peace of mind, all the outside are cover by the fee ,such as window ,door, fence, roof ,cut the grass, move the snow ,I only care about inside regular maintenance ,so I spend not much on my condo. That my experience.I hope can help.

I moved here not long ago and found here quite nice. Convenient living. There is Shoppers Drug mart next to my door; 10minutes walk is Montreal Road where you can find Metro which provides sufficient grocery for daily living. About 6-7 bus stops further, there is Gloucester center. Around there you can find Zellars, Source, CIBC, Bulk Barn, Payless Shoes, Loblaw, Canadian Tire, DollarRama. Costco is also not far away locating on Cyrville near Inne.
Mostly, environment is good here, plenty trees, houses not crowded. To north, there is Ottawa River by 10 minutes cycling. Next door is Beacon hill which provides rich autum pictures these days.
Just guess it will be a bit hard if commute to downtown everyday, specially in winter.

Did you mean "Mooney's Bay"? The high school in that area is not so good though.
