请教各位都买什么RESP？

RESP is a long term investment and we need it secured. So I only go to bank for opening a RESP account.

There are so many investment types you can choose for your RESP, such as GIC, mutual fund, stock, option etc. But it all depends your investment style, conservative or aggressive. I just put my RESP in GIC and mutual fund and a little stock. Somehow you got $500 from government when you put $2500 each year. So you already got some 20% income for the initial amount per year. Safe is my first concern.

银行的RESP的回报率普遍低。用Group Plan （象USC, canadian scholarship trust plan）的坏处是以后不能换到其他公司，不论他们做的好不好，因为换会被罚款的。

卖resp 的公司很多。做的好坏不一。听说Industrial Alliance好像做的最好。

先多调查一下再买。

有17 18年的时间，完全可以承担一定的风险。可以从中高风险的基金开始，到了10-12年的时候逐步调低你的risk exposure. 孩子开始上大学的时候，绝大多数在fix income和cash就好了。

It is too early to do it now since the government grant has a ceiling. BTW, you can lose a lot if you do not invest this money well.

Is the logic really simple?

Suppose that every year you put in X dollars, the government matches 20%, the company invests using your money with annual return rate R and takes Y dollars fee every year. So, how much you will have after N years? Express the amount of money you have after N years as a function of X, Y, R and N.

早年给孩子买resp没花什么心思用的是usc.最近听朋友说起industrial alliance 的resp 可以做的好很多，有心想转过去，结果一问才知道要付巨额罚款，就算了。

那你说说为什么industrial alliance会比一般银行的回报高呢?要知道industrial alliance就象其他投资机构一样,要比一般银行多CHARGE很多费用.
