When I bought my house from the builder, I hired an inspector to take care of the site work since the foundation starts. I signed a document with the inspector but I did not formally let the builder know. I told the site manager that one of my friends were interested in my house and would like to go to the site to see the work in different stages. The site manager did not say no. Later he found I hired an inspector and was a little bit unhappy but not angry.
I knew the inspector did go to the site some times and let me know something he felt concerned. When I had some concerns I asked him to go there and take a look and then let me know whether they were real issues. Some of them he said were not issue, some of them he said were issues and he let the site constructors to fix them in time.
In the 30 days and year end, I hired another 2 inspectors and they did not find any big issues. I am very satisfied with the quality of my house.
