想买一个garage door opener,房子是urbandale的single,double garage,
1/2 HP的够不够用..urbandale的garage door加了insulation，比一般builder的门要重。

I have same garage door as your. I use 3/4 HP door opener from Coscto. It's OK.
1/2 HP is not enough for sure.

Yes. Ours is insulated too.

From spec you may need 3/4 HP. But in real, 1/2HP will be able to lift a big door. The lifting power is adjustable. However, it might reduce the life time of the opener. You could try since it is not expensive. BTW, $99 in HomeDepot this week (without passcode keypad).

I think the one we bought from Liftmaster is life time guarantee. And 1/2 HP is what the spec recommends, not 3/4 HP.
