Here are some information about the product requested:

At this time, Health Canada does not have reason to believe that the products recalled in Belgium and France were sold in Canada.

Health Canada has received some complaints related to pungent smells released from foam playmats when the packaging is opened. At this time, there is no evidence of health issues related to the release of these odours, and Health Canada believes that the odours are likely an off-gasing issue, and not related to Formamide.

For formamide presence in a foam play mat to cause a health issue, it would be likely that a significant amount of formamide is present - likely to the extent that the surface of the foam mat is wet with the chemical.

Notwithstanding Health Canada's belief that complaints received related to the malodour of certain play foam mats available on the market is not related to the presence of Formamide, Health Canada is performing testing at our Product Safety Laboratory to determine the presence, and, (if present) the concentration of Formamide in a selection of foam play mats purchased from the Canadian market.

当年加拿大率先禁了BPA，各国紧跟着也禁了。

Answer:
Looks like these mats are made of EVA foam which are having an issues and banned from some European countries.
Not recommened.

As a mother of 2 young children, I'm deeply concerned with the safety of the wildly popular foam playmats sold in Canadian stores across the country.

Recently these foam mats are banned in Belgium and France as new tests show that they contain a cancer-causing chemical - Formamide.

Formamides are used to soften the foam in the mats but are corrosive and can be deadly. Toxicologist Alfred Bernard explained: "They are solvents, residues from the manufacturing process that stay in the product afterwards. They can be absorbed through breathing or through the skin. As a rule, children should not be exposed to these products."

I'm wondering what Canada is doing regarding this disturbing recall.
