</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=2>Today at approximately 2:00 p.m. Glebe Collegiate received a bomb threat. To secure the safety of all students and staff, I made the decision to take every precaution and evacuated the school. Due to the severe cold and wind chill students and staff were directed to the Glebe Community Centre while Emergency Services responded to the call. After careful consultation with the Ottawa Police and the OCDSB we announced to the students and staff that they were allowed to return to the building to collect their belongs and be dismissed.
Some students did not receive this message as they had already proceeded home from the community centre as we were not sure at the time when we would be allowed back into the school. The Administrative team will be here tomorrow between 8:00 – 10:00 to open classrooms for students to collect their bags and school materials. The school will only be open for these hours as there are Saturday language classes in our classrooms on Saturday. We want to reassure you that the school is now safe and we also want to compliment the students and staff on the safe evacuation and behaviour throughout the stressful situation. Hope you enjoy the weekend. See you back at school Monday morning at the regular time.
