possible G2 extension?

I know it is 5 years time frame from G1 to G; it is one year to have G test from G2 to G.

My friend passed G2, but does not have one year to have G test before 5 years time frame expire. I mean that he passed G2 October 2010, his 5 years should be expired on March 2011.

is it possible to ask G2 extension without start over from G1?

My friend passed G2 in 2005, but does not have one year to have G test before 5 years time frame expire. I mean that he passed G2 in October 2005, his 5 years should expire in March 2006. Then his new G2 would expire in October 2010.
October 2005+5 years=October 2010,
Similarily, October 2010+5 years=October 2015

不知道为何your friend passed G2 in October 2010, his 5 years should expire in March 2011 instead of October 2015?
难道现在规则变了?如果是这样的话,your friend可能会"过期了，然后从头来一遍的, G1->G2->G"。
