[问题] Constant Noise

Recently, my neighbour installed a Jacuzzi (that's what I guessed), and in my bedroom, I can hear the constant low-frequecy noise at night and in the early morning. The noise really bothers me, so I am considering to sleep in other bedroom (the noise can only be heard at backyard, not the front). But I don't think it is long term solution.
Is there any by-law for this type of thing?

Is your community being disturbed by unreasonable noise?

The By-law Services Branch promptly investigates noise complaints. Noise By-laws regulate acceptable levels of noise from music, mechanical and construction equipment, vehicles, sound reproduction devices, animals, etc. Noise levels tolerated during the day may not be acceptable at night, early in the morning or on the weekend. Be considerate of others. Typically first time noise offenders are informed of the by-law and issued a courtesy warning. Continued violations may result in hefty fines or Court proceedings.


Until the New City Council has considered and approved new noise regulations covering the new City of Ottawa existing by-laws of the former municipalities will continue to be enforced within the boundaries of those former municipalities.


To report a complaint, please call the 24-hour Client Service Centre at 580-2400.
