到底加国需要这些F－３５战机吗？

I don't understand why the opposition parties are trying to attack the Conservative party on this.

In my opinion, it is absolutely necessary. Here is a few of my reasons:

1. Canada is a massive country that has rich resources including oil, gas, water etc. In last 10 years, we have seen so many international conflicts are triggered by trying to take control of resources owned by others. I have no doubt this situation will get even worse in the near future. In case such a conflict happens between Canada and another country (such as Russia) there is nothing else that can get across the country as fast as a fighter jet.

2. Last summer, Prime Minister Stephen Harper toured Arctic. We know many countries are trying to declare their sovereignty of Arctic. When dealing with the Arctic, there is very little that has the kind of survivability of a fighter jet in the air under those kinds of harsh conditions

3. We live in this country and love it. Canada needs a stronger defense system so that not only ourselves but also our children can live in this country without worrying much being assaulted by foreign countries.

4. To improve our air defense ability is just one step but definitely a necessary step.

We are supposed to be democratic country. Let's see how many Canadians are willing to pay a couple thousand dollars per household to buy these jets. Simply ask the people:

- Do you want to get $3000 per average family from the government, or you want the government to buy the F-35 jets?

其实不就是花点钱拍一拍美国人嘛,加国的地域性,这是没办法的事情. 不过也许将来可以用来在北极抢地盘.

F35是唯一的五代联合战斗机，北约盟国普遍采用，加拿大买这款可以保证比较长的使用期。如果卖一批二流战机，没几年就要淘汰更新，那是一个更糟糕的决定。

其实自由党执政也是要买的，联合开发这款战机的合同根本就是他们签的。他们现在不过是为反对而反对罢了。

If a government is not allowed to make this kind of decision can you imaging what kind of country it is? Do you think a referendum is the solution? Do you know how much a referendum will cost you?

Based on your calculation, a household will have to contribute $3000 for this. But be noticed your family won't have to pay it in one year. $3000 over 5 to 10 years, is that a big deal.

As my family has settled in this land, my next generation and the generations to come will live and work in this country, why should I care about that $3000?

就是就是，北极这块大肥肉好吃呀，咱占着地利，不抢白不抢。
