Wow, Robin! It seems you guys are playing a lot of golf, which is nice...

Have you even broken 90 again? Do you post the scores of all your guys in these eventss? That would be nice to see...

Nice to hear from you plouis8888.

Except Hugh who he has consistently shot in 80's, many of us were struggling to keep scores below 100, in part due to the poor course conditions (as you probably know there were lot of rain last a couple of weeks here in Ottawa and most courses were very very wet; for one example, Falconrdige was able to open only 10 holes last week).

I did get a huge confidence boost last Monday at eQuinelle with a steady performance of 88 (+8 for both front and back), my 2nd lowest score ever. Today I shot 93 @ Stonebridge with a birdie and 3 pars (but one stupid +5 on a par-3 hole and missed a birdie on the 18th hole by a small margin). So the trend line is good but one thing puzzles me is that I simply have no distance with my irons at all (e.g. 9-iron and 7-iron gave me the same distance). Very frustrating. Also, my 7-wood used to give me 180 but now only 150 - a whole 30 yards short.

Any idea what went wrong? Thanks in-advance!

BTW, if you don't want to miss out the chance of winning a $60,000 BMW, you may want to register for the 2011 Ottawa Chinese Golf Open which will be held between June 25-26, 2011.

hehe plouis8888, you are the only one I know in person who ever hits a hole-in-one. Come and show us again and drive a BMW away.:)

If you are often and then shotting a score between 90-100 and occassionally breaking 90, your handicap should be around 18 or less, which is progressing (your handicap was 23 or something when you played match with us last year). Stonebridge is a difficult course; 93 would be decent score for a handicaper of about 18.

Before I could see you striking the ball, it is no way to find the problem of your swing. According to my experience, the problem was usually a fat hit: as mentioned before, if one hits balls too much on the hitting mat during a long winter, on which a fat hit does not have too much penalty on distance, he/she could have some tendency to hit fat shots on real grass at the begining of the season.

I have a business meeting on June 16-17 in Vancouver/Victoria and possibly followed by a Chinese golf tournament in Vancouver, on the 18th. After my long trip to BC, it is diffcult to justify a special trip to Ottawa, unless the trip is aligned with a business trip.

Nice to know you have a HIO prize of a BMW; that's very nice.

Xiaoyan, yes, I have two HIOs, one is in Canada and the other is in Beijing. However, HIO does not come if one thinks of it --- it always comes stealthily by when one is not aware of; at least this is true for me. Regardless, it very nice to know that your tournament is open for anybody, it is a real OPEN. That's very nice...

A great game at Stonebridge today!

Hugh continued his steady play with a score of 89 (44 front and 45 back), but finally "managed" to play one bad hole (#12) with a "+4". Our best player Ca4 had an off game with a "dismal" score (by his standard) of 86 (41 front and 45 back). Jack missed some wide fairways but still shot 93 (48 front and 45 back), beating Robin (94; 50 front and 44 back) by one stroke.

Congratulation to Stephen for shooting the lowest score of 81, easily the best player of the game! This is an amazing score at Stonebridge (a pretty diffult course considered by many) and also given this early of the season! My salute to DL (103) and XY (106): DL was battling with fatigue due to back-to-back games without power cart while XY is still recovering from his recent leg injury ......

Thanks everybody for a fun game!
