What's the proper distance between the gas range top and the bottom of cabinets?
The guy from 译程 said it was 40" but the builder only left 33".

For the most efficient & quiet operation:
• A distance of 28” to 31” is recommended*
between stove top and the bottom of range hood.

However, I think the distance will be different if you use a more powerful hood or a gas range.

正确的程序是定下来炉子和排风扇后,把炉子的尺寸和排风扇的安装要求给做橱柜的,同时也书面通知BUILDER(加小签).我的排风扇的要求是MIN 30"到炉子火头,我装让BUILDER装到32".记的两边的橱柜下面灯框也要做调整,那个做橱柜的知道.

We didn't know that matters until we went to 译程 on Sunday. We bought a Bosch gas range (HGS5053UC), which has a standard size. The saleslady said at least the designer was supposed to ask us what type of range we bought.

其实我觉得最方便的还是买wallmount的，我觉得既好看又能灵活上下调整距离

Bosch网站上哟所有的说明书和安装手册。译程我当时也去过，询问几台机器后想先定下来，尺寸有了才好做柜子。结果被告诉没有具体机型安装尺寸的文件，说要等几天才有。我那个时候哪儿还有时间等，BUILDER马上就要上DRY WALL了。wallmount的是方便啊，就是少了个柜子，要搽洗的面积更大了。

油烟机上面那个柜子我觉得用处不大，由于要走管道，上面空间很小，所以有没有这个橱柜我都无所谓，擦洗的面积是什么意思？你说的是油烟机上面不锈钢？我觉得还好吧，反正一个月擦一回也没多麻烦

俺也没做那个柜子，一就是你说的基本是个摆设，我还要了点CREDIT回来（要知道从BUILER那要钱比拔铁公鸡的毛还难）二就是本来是不锈钢的挺好看别画蛇添足，直接到顶。不过那个大不锈钢壳子我一个月可搽不了一次，半年搽了一次。。。累个半死，两边是柜子很不好用劲，上面一层油灰。搽完喷不锈钢油还是很亮。风格我到是每周丢洗碗机里去洗。

那灶台上头那块咱们应该差不多。
我们当时去掉橱柜也拿了好像$50的credit，补贴到买wallmount机器里正好。
反正我是比较喜欢欧式的那种式样，下次买房最好弄个island的。

Does anyone know what the minimum distance between the gas range top and the bottom of cabinets is required by CODE?

The builder said it's our fault that we didn't ask for a gas range. The designer never asked us to provide such info. I just checked the document. It doesn't ask the customer to provide the type of range anywhere.
