When Patricia Zhou, a prize winner of the Prix de Lausanne 2011, steps onto the stage, the audience takes notice. Born in Canada, raised in the United States and trained at the renowned Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C., she has emerged as an immensely talented performer with a bright future on the world ballet scene.
Although Patricia started her ballet training late at age of 13, she has progressed quickly and come out on top, many times winning first and second place in international ballet competitions. She has also been invited to perform in galas including performances as a soloist with famed stars of the renown Mariinsky Theatre, YAGP Grand Prix US Tour "Stars of Today Meet Stars of Tomorrow", "Tremplin Jeunes Ballet" in Monaco, "Gala of Stars" in LA, as well as "The Ballecon Special Gala 2011" in Japan.
Patricia has been featured in Pointe Magazine (In the Wings), Dance Spirit (Cover Model Search Finalist: Patricia Zhou), newspapers, websites, and Kirov ads. In addition, her dance videos have been the editors' choice "Video of the Year" and "Video of the Month" many times by Dance Magazine, Pointe Magazine, and Dance Spirit. At the age of 16, Patricia was also a recipient of the 2010 National Award of Excellence in Performing Art given by the Society of Arts and Letters.
Besides Kirov, Patricia has studied at the 39th Prix De Lausanne Master Classes, Princess Grace Academy of Ballet, Monaco Dance Forum, Kennedy Center Master Class Series, YAGP Master Classes at Paris Opera Ballet School, the Beijing Dance Academy, San Francisco Ballet, Houston Ballet, Ellison Ballet Professional Training Program, SLK Ballet, and Academy of Russian Classical Ballet Summer Intensive programs, among others. She has also received private coaching from Ms. Monique Loudières, Mr. Anton Korsakov and Mr. Viktor Kabaniaev.
Patricia will be dancing with the prestigious "The Royal Ballet" company in London UK starting from the late summer of 2011.
