I think it's a good ideal to give out the detail costs of keeping a house so that the new guys like me can understand how much to spend to buy a house exactly. Sample like the following but should give out different between using gas or electric to heating system.

年地产税： 1500-1800 ---》 每月125-150
GAS： 1200-1500 ---》 每月100-150
保险： 300-500 ---》 每月25-41
水： 300-600 ---》 每月25--50
除草除雪： 300-600 ---》 每月25--50
房屋维护： 1000-1500 ---》 每月83-125
电费： 800- 1200 每月 66--100

但是房子跟房子的差别太大，这样比较没有什么意义。比如水电费，各家用的不同，花费自然也不一样。
就算非要比较，也应该把有关房子的数据列出来才好参考。

除草除雪： 300-600 ---》 每月25--50 ??? 自己除草除雪不用花钱.当然最好买割草机,修边机,还有产雪机.大概全加上$1000.

今天收到了一堆账单，刚好算一下房子的开支。

猫窝2160 sq. ft.，地下室没有装修，有中央空调，没有中央吸尘器。天然气供暖，烧壁炉，做饭。其他用电。

一年大致开支如下：
地产税：3000 --> 250/月
保险：300 --> 25/月
水：720 --> 60/月
电：720 --> 60/月
气：1200 --> 100/月

除草铲雪都是自己动手，除了首期投资没有太多开销。新房还在保修期内，也暂时没有维修费用。

我有个同事(contractor)用的是TD Insurance的房屋保险，也才三百多一年。也是同车一起保的。

I've just gathered some real data from the last 12 months:

Energy cost:
Gas: 200/month
Hydro: 70/month
Water: 30/month
----------------
TOTAL: 300/month

Some comparative data:
House size: 2160 sq. ft.
Number of people in house: 2-3
Room temperatures (home/sleep/away): 22/19/16.5

It is a case by case situation.

Generally speaking, the expenses to keep a house/twonhouse are higher than that of renting. (30-50% higher)

It is wise for a couple(without kid or elders) to rent from cost perspective.
