Hello everyone,

Thank you all for your kind responses regarding for " my son is leaving home for university "

May be that is called Empty-nest syndrome.

I know that I have to let my baby bird fly out of the nest and let him experience freedom and explore life.

I would just let him know that me and his dad are always by his side and the support is unconditional.

This morning my friend email me the message below for how to prepare kid leaving home for universtiy. just share with you :

Encourage them to take responsibility for themselves and for starting their new way of life with confidence and enthusiasm.

On a practical level, it is really helpful if they can cook a few basic meals for themselves and can manage their own financial affairs.

Plus teach them how to use condoms; parents should even purchase the condom package for their kids when sending them into university. This is not joking. :D

when they go to bars

1, Never leave the opened drink on the table unattanded, come back from washroom etc.. just order another so they don't get drugged.
2, Make sure at least one person is not touch any alcohol so to take care others and bring them back home. A group friends can take turns.

Hi Country on wheel;

Have you ever bought condoms for your kids in any situations ?

For me: I WOULD NOT.

Yes, I bought a package of condoms for my son when I dropped him into University Dormitory at the first day,and tell him the save sex points (especially not involving in pregnancy during school years). Definitely, this is his first package. When a son is entering into university, he should be around 18/19 years old, and should have sex education already. It may be the father's task to deliver the sex education, but one may regret without telling them the truth. If you think that I am joking, I would say: forget it.
