This year is Parks Canada’s 100th Anniversary and we are excited about celebrating our Centennial year with Canadians! The event will take place from 1:00 p.m. on June 18 to 11:30 a.m. on June 19. The entire event will be facilitated and supervised by Parks Canada staff, who will be on-site throughout the event.

Overnight parking is available free of charge on-site for the participants who wish to drive and park at Long Island Lockstation (just north of Manotick, in Ottawa South). Overnight parking on-site at the lockstation is only available for this special event!
However, for participants who wish to park at Dow’s Lake Pavilion parking lot overnight, there will be a parking fee of $12.00 per vehicle that participants will be responsible for paying themselves. (Parks Canada will not be able to pay for the parking fee at the Dow’s Lake Pavilion parking lot.)
It is essential for participants to register in advance and to notify Parks Canada by June 14 if they need to cancel their registration so we can allow other people to attend.
Please note that this is a very special event at the Rideau Canal Long Island Lockstation, as camping is not normally permitted at this location or other locations along the Rideau Canal unless you arrive by boat or by organized bicycle tour.
Also, please note that swimming is not permitted at the Rideau Canal Long Island Lockstation.
