Committee gives thumbs-up to more development on city’s fringe

OTTAWA — After two sessions of debating how to expand the city’s urban-development boundary by 850 hectares, most of which were spent wrangling over a few hectares in northern Kanata, city council’s planning committee decided to approve almost the same growth their planning staff first recommended more than two years ago.
