Staples Anniversary Blowout: eMachines 10.1” Netbook $149.20, Shredder $20, SanDisk 1

Staples' is celebrating their 20th birthday with an Anniversary Blowout Sale from now until October 18, 2011. There are a couple of decent deals available but one that caught our eye was the eMachines Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz 10.1" Netbook with 1GB RAM and 250GB HD for $149.20. We've seen a lot of netbooks on sale in the last month or so but we can't remember any being this low. This netbook features average battery life (up-to 4 hours) but weighs 2.3 lbs and will be fine for someone just looking to take notes, check e-mail and surf the web. The laptop will only be available at that price from October 7-9.

There were also a couple of laptop/desktop units on sale that we thought had some good value.

The Acer 13.3" laptop features a second generation Intel Core i3 processor and a mid-range graphics card along with a good amount of RAM and hard drive space. It's pretty good value for the price and should be considered if you're in the market for a portable computer that's considerably more powerful than a netbook, isn't too heavy (4.12 lbs) and has a long battery life (up-to 9 hours). The Acer 3.1GHz desktop is a pretty decent computer for general home such as storing photos, videos, word processing etc. It also features a second-generation i3 processor but only has integrated graphics.
