You can hire an insurance broker to do it for you.
Tell your broker your need, and your broker will shop around, show you all the quotes from different insurance companies, price may be different, coverage is also different. That broker is just a middle man. He has commission from insurance company.
My insurance broker is in Toronto, (my family stick with the same person more than ten years). Maybe there are insurance brokers who saw your post can introduce themselves to you.
They probably need the following:
1. Colour, make, model and year of your car
2. Your previous insurance and driving record (you cannot lie to them, they can use your driver license to find out whether you have any demerit points from other province or USA,...)
3. Do you drive to work or just weekend (leisure driver)
4. If you are married, you have to tell them names and driver license of all family members who live with you (especially kids under 25)
5. Whether you want to bundle with your house insurance.
Your insurance broker will tell you what he/she wants to know.
