Libyans in Ottawa rejoice at news ‘the monster’ is dead

Salah Dau has been watching the Arab Spring roll through Tunisia, Egypt and his native Libya since February, and finally he heard the news that he says frees his country for good. “It’s an incredible thing,” he said Thursday from his home in Ottawa. “If you told me before February 17 that this would happen, I would just have said, ‘Oh, you’re kidding’.” (Feb. 17 was the date when people began their revolt in Tunisia.)
