The Ottawa Police Service has provided a draft 2012 budget that calls for a 2.5-per-cent tax rate increase, but warn that meeting that goal for 2013 could be a challenge. Police presented a draft budget Wednesday morning that calls for $9.3 million in new funding, and said the net increase after growth is taken into account means that the police portion of the tax bill will go up by $13 for the average urban homeowner.
