Ottawa cellblock activity under new scrutiny

A year after a judge called the treatment — including the strip search — of a female prisoner in the Ottawa police cellblocks an “indignity” and dismissed charges against her, new daily reports show officers working the block reported 43 strip searches and 22 use-of-force incidents during the first half of the year.
