The following document was got from International sudent center in Carleton today: (Modified to short)
Now there appear to have been some changes in the processing of Temporary Resident Visas (TRV)applications at the Canadian Consulate in Buffalo , NY. Due to these changes, students from
China are advised to choose one of the following options to ensure that delays in TRV applications processing are minimized:
(1) demonstrate to Laura Cohen that you have been studying continuously (except for summer breaks) since your arrival in Canada, you may be issued a letter of support which you can include with your TRV application to Buffalo. This letter may take a few days to be issued......
(2)If you have had breaks in your study (other than summer) since you arrived in Canada, you are
advised to apply for a TRV the next time you go home to China. The reason for this recommendation is that you may be required to attend a personal interview, and it is much easier to attend an interview when you are home in China than to in Buffalo......
For more detail, go to Uni-Center 501, Carleton. Don't know if OU will provide this letter of
support. I suppose there will be a similar processing. So if you need to apply a TRV, try to make it early. It wont be difficult though, just take time.
Goodluck to all.
